              • Not in the rinsing pot this is said referring to a place common to all. For indeed, others come and go there, therefore water should not be left over. But in a monastery which is also communal, a place made in one part for the purpose of regular use, or a place that is private, that is proper. It is indeed proper even for one repeatedly entering after drinking a purgative.
        • ācamanapādukāya ṭhitena paṭicchādetabbaṁ.
          • he should cover himself while still standing on the foot-stands for rinsing.
        • sace vaccakuṭi uhatā hoti, dhovitabbā.
          • if the restroom is stained by feces, he should clean it.
          • Ūhatāti ūhaditā; bahi vaccamakkhitāti attho. Dhovitabbāti udakaṃ āharitvā dhovitabbā. Udakaṃ atthi, bhājanaṃ natthi, asantaṃ nāma hoti. Bhājanaṃ atthi, udakaṃ natthi, etampi asantaṃ. Ubhaye pana asati asantameva, kaṭṭhena vā kenaci vā puñchitvā gantabbaṃ. Sesaṃ sabbattha uttānamevāti.
            • Ūhatā means ūhaditā; meaning smeared with excrement outside. Should be washed means it should be washed bringing water. There is water, but there is no container, it is as if there is nothing. There is a container, but there is no water, this too is as if there is nothing. But when both are absent, it is indeed as if there is nothing, one should wipe it with a stick or something and go. The rest is obvious everywhere.
        • sace avalekhanapidharo pūro hoti, avalekhanakaṭṭhaṁ chaḍḍetabbaṁ.

When a pair of men are living, the one who breaks such good practice is their final man.
