            • in this grammar, the state of having several vowels in noun stems such as nadī, purisa, etc exists. There are no several vowels in roots such as gamu or paca. All the roots end only in consonants. There is no need to elide the ending of the root (in kaccāyana one elides the last vowel of the root). Therefore in "najjāyo" the vowel ī is the last vowel. From that, ā is inserted by the sutta "najjāyo svāma". But in the case of rundhati, u is the last vowel. From that, by the sutta "maṁ vā rudhādīnan'ti ṁ is inserted. In this way jīrati, sīdati, etc is formed. But in Myanmar books the statement is given: "mānubandho padānamantā paro" which does not match the Sinhalese books (preferred here).

              • Monks, it is just like a fire that is set loose from a hut made of reeds or one made of grass that burns even a pinnacled house that is plastered inside out, sheltered, with locked doors and windows shut. Just in the same way, monks, any fear whatsoever may arise...not the wise.

              • Thus indeed, monks, the fool is dangerous, and not dangerous is the wise. The fool is calamitous, and not calamitous is the wise. The fool is risky, and not risky is the wise. No fear arises, monks, from the wise, no calamity arises from the wise, no danger arises from the wise.
